After the sale of Arriva`s St Johns Road bus depot to Pegasus Life by this firm last summer, Durlings have now secured premises to lease for their relocation on North Farms Industrial Estate.
After a comprehensive search on their behalf, Units 10 & 11 Kingstanding Way were identified as being suitable, and Durlings entered in to negotiations for a new lease with the landlord`s agent.
There is approximately 35,000 sq ft (3250 sq m) of industrial space arranged in two opposite buildings with a large central yard. The total site area extends to 1.7 acres.
Due to the sui-genris use as a bus depot the lease was conditional on obtaining a change of use, which was approved by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council around the middle of August.
“Oliver Monahan, Area Managing Director for Arriva commented “The St John’s Road bus depot in Tunbridge Wells is one of our oldest and has been our home for over 84 years. We have run thousands of vehicles from the depot since July 1933, employing local residents whilst serving the ever changing communities of the town. We would like to thank our neighbours for their support over the years and are extremely excited to move into our new state-of-the-art home which has been designed to allow us to continue to serve the local community and be a major employer in the Tunbridge Wells area now and into the future.”
Durlings have a number of clients seeking commercial space and development land in and around Tunbridge Wells.
